OPEN GRAZING REMAINS BANNED IN BENUS STATE, GOV. ORTOM DECLARES

The Governor of troubled Benu State, Samel Ortom has declared that the anti-grazing law in the state remained in force.

He stated this Sunday at the maiden special thanksgiving service organized for him by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Benue Province 3 in the Makurdi, the State capital.

“Open grazing could not coexist with crop farming in the state, because they conflict with each other and that would negatively affect the economy of the state, which largely dependent on agriculture.”

The Governor used the occasion to charge Christians across the country be more involved in politics. According to him, it was the only way they could hope to have a say in the affairs of the country.

“Christians all over Nigeria must develop interest and participate actively in politics to have a say in what happens around them. Without being actively involved and having a Permanent Voters Card, PVC, there would be no need to talk about bad or good governance, ” he said.

Continuing, he maintained that to have a voice was to be armed with what could make one to vote for a preferred candidate.
