STOP SLEEPING WITH YOUR HUSBAND TO QUALIFY FOR HOLY COMMUNION, CHURCH TELLS WOMAN

Items for Holy Communion.
A  mother of five children of Umuchu town in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State has been alleged to have heeded the advice of the Priest of her church to stop having sex with her husband in order to qualify for taking the Holy Communion.

Reports have it that the woman (names withheld) got married to her husband nearly two decades ago as second wife, and both have five children. However, recently, she decided to embrace Christianity as a Catholic, but could not take the Holy Communion since, according to the laws of the church, only coupes "properly married" are eligible to partake in the Communion. This made the woman to start denying her husband sex in obedience to her Priest's order to that effect. The Priest was said top have told her that henceforth as a precondition for her eligibility to take the Holy Communion, she must confess her sins, separate from the husband and stop having intercourse with him.

After this, the woman had continued to deny her husband sex, a development that was said to have fueled constant disputes between the couple. It was when family members waded in to unravel the cause of the woman's action that she confessed to be following the orders of her Priest. She argued that since her husband was yet to complete all the married rites, she was not duly married to him regardless of the number of children they have together.

"I do not want to continue to miss God's blessings due to my incomplete marital status. I have been denied the privilege of partaking in the Holy Communion because of this," she was said to have informed family members.

She further explained that since she had lived with him formerly as a wife and had children before she repented, she will stay in his house and take care of his children, but would not longer concur to any sexual relations with him.

Currently, the woman is said to have been ostracized by her husband and her own children who feel disgusted over their mother's action.

According to the laws of the church, couples in polygamous marriages are not eligible to partake in the highly revered Holy Communion in the Catholic Church.

Biafra Agitation: South East Govs Beg Nnamdi Kanu

The five Governors of the Southeastern States, Nigeria.
The five governors of the Southeastern States of Nigeria met earlier today with the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the lodge of the Enugu State governor.

According to sources, the meeting was meant to calm frayed nerves among the growing followers of the self-styled Igbo leader.  It was also gathered that the governors also used the meeting to persuade Kanu to jettison his hard stance against the Nigerian government and also to reach a truce regarding his threat to disrupt the November 2017 gubernatorial elections in Anambra State.

The governors were said to have been elated to have Nnamdi Kanu in attendance as he had repeatedly turned down similar invitations in the past.

It is not clear how much ground was covered at the meeting since, according to a source, Nnamdi Kanu is notorious for breaking promises. However, those in the know said the IPOB leader was quite somber at the meeting, fueling speculations that he may indeed be on his way to repentance. The governors were said to have been quite confident that the meeting would yield positive results.

Give Me Biafra Or I Die, Nnamdi Kanu Dares FG Again

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the self-styled leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The self-styled leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has reiterated his desire to see the founding of the State of Biafra or he dies. He said this while berating those calling for his re-arrest, threatening fire and brimstone, if anyone dared to re-arrest him.
While speaking at Boys Technical College (BTC), Aba, the Abia State Capital Sunday 27th August, 2017 on the growing calls from several quarters for his re-arrest having severally broken the bail conditions that brought him temporary freedom from his two-year incarceration in prison, he said death awaits those who would dare to arrest him.
It will be recalled that the Federal Government, feeling disturbed over the flagrant abuse of the bail conditions by Kanu, it has submitted a petition to the Justice Binta Nyako-led Federal High Court in Abuja to void his bail on grounds of violation of the set conditions.
However, the IPOB leader in his reaction said, no one could arrest him, boasting that anyone making such an attempt would meet their waterloo in his native Southeast Region, which he calls Biafraland. He added that the Federal Government would be wasting its time coming to arrest him, maintaining that the aspiration for a Sovereign State of Biafra was a done deal, which cannot be stopped by the Government of Nigeria since, according to him, it was a “message from heaven.”
“The message of heaven is what I bring to you. Don’t be afraid. The plans of our enemies are not going to be actualized. The enemies are planning, but we are formidable.”
Speaking further, he said, “Where we are, is Biafra Land. Aba is the spiritual capital of Biafra land. We started in Aba in 2015 at CKC (Christ the King Catholic Cathedral). That day, heaven authenticated our move that IPOB will restore Biafra and that’s what we’ve come to do. We died in Aba; at National High School. They shot and killed us in other places in Biafra land when they were protesting for my release. As our people rest in their graves, we will never rest until Biafra is restored. I don’t care what they say in Abuja. I don’t give a damn what they say in Lagos. I am a Biafran and we are going to crumble the zoo. Some idiots who are not educated said that they will arrest me, and I ask them to come. I am in Biafra land. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive know that this is not IPOB. Tell them that is what I said.”
Furthermore, he added, “Tell Buhari that I am in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in Biafra land will die here. I’ll never go on exile I assure you. Some people talk about restructuring, are we doing restructuring of Nigeria now? Are we doing fiscal federalism? Are we doing devolution? What we want is Biafra! Forget all the nonsense they write about us. We are not slowing down and no man born of a woman can stop us. They thought we are joking and God gave us a simple message that no one can stop us. The movement to restore Biafra is unstoppable. We are going to boycott Anambra State election. After Anambra 2017, in 2019, there will be no elections in Biafra land. Signed and sealed. My message is that there will not be election in Biafra land ever again until they give us date for referendum,” he boasted.
As of now, it remains to be seen what the authorities would next. Who blinks first? The Fed3eral Government, or Nnamdi Kanu?

Me, Apologize to Buhari? Never! Fayose Boasts

Fayose: I stand by my earlier claim on Buhari.
In apparent response to the threat earlier in the week by the Miyati Allah Cattle Breeders Association to sue him if he failed to apologize to President Buhari over his comments on the health of the latter, the Ekiti State helmsman, Governor Ayodele Fayose has vowed never to apologize. Rather, he asked the President to stop deceiving Nigerians and go back to his home town in Daura, Katsina State and rest.

He denied ever threatening to commit suicide should Buhari return home alive, maintaining that he stood by his earlier claim that the President was on life-support.
Earlier in the week, the umbrella body of the Fulani herdsmen, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, had threatened Fayose with a legal action if he failed to immediately apologise to President Buhari.
But speaking to leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the government office in Ekiti on Wednesday, Fayose said that his agitation brought President Buhari back home and that he has no apologies to any one not happy with his statements on Buhari.
He said, “If not for our efforts Buhari wouldn’t have returned now. Buhari is sick and tired and even his physical appearance betrayed this and he needs to go home and rest.
“Today, they have cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting. You cannot hide the truth forever, it will reveal itself someday. You cannot continue to deceive Nigerians.
“Every word that has come out of my mouth before the President returns, I have no apology for them. President Buhari was indeed in coma and one of those who visited him said his recovery is a miracle, that shows that he was indeed very sick.
“Let Buhari go back to Daura and rest. Don’t send him to early grave. Buhari is not old enough to be my father, my mother is older than Buhari, he cannot be my father, he can only be my uncle. I am close to 60. I stand by all I have said about the President. We are glad he is back, but don’t over flog him.
“I am not a sycophant and I stand to speak for Nigeria. Somebody must be able to speak on behalf of the poor masses. This was how they deceived us during the time of Yar’Adua. I am not an hypocrite and I will never be one. This country deserves a very healthy person. The office of the president is not for a sick man. The president is tired and should be allowed to resign and go and rest.”
Speaking further, Fayose said, “I have said it severally and without apologies. Everything I said when the President was away, I stand by them. The president actually went into coma and this was attested to by what one of the governors who visited him when he was abroad said that his recovery was a miracle. When somebody’s recovery is a miracle it simply means something very serious happened to the person.
“Since the President himself cannot disclose his health status and also the extent of his ailment, it apparently shows that there is so much to hide. Not until civil societies and people like us started making noise. You can’t be our president without us knowing what is happening to you. So, for me, the president went to coma July 6. Today, they can come back and organise rallies and all that; they attested to the fact the President recovered by miracle which we are glad about. We are happy that he is back but when you look physically at the President, you will see that he is emaciated tired and weak.
“You don’t have to be president at all cost, when you are tired. You go home. I don’t want to talk about 2019 but I want to tell you that Nigeria needs a president that is agile and strong. The job is too much for an individual that does not have what it takes. It is a common saying that health is wealth. Everything is about health. We wish him well and we want him to recover but the President should throw in the towel , resign and go home.
“You see they said he would come back and resume in his office, he resumed in his office , they said rats have taken over his office! A presidential office, rats took over his office!
“Now they said he is working from home, tomorrow, they would say he is coming from bedroom. All these stories are ending up in a make believe. In a country where you have so much to do, I m not going to be a sycophants here. I am going to be on the side of the common man, the President is tired. I feel for the president like every other elderly persons, or even people who are not elderly. They could be sick. But when it comes to the issue of governing a country. There is so much responsibility to this and we must equally be able to stand up and say if the president does not have what it takes to continue, he should throw in the towel.”

On whether he would visit Buhari if asked to do so he said, “I cannot go and greet the president if invited and the reason is that such action would be misinterpreted to be something else. So, it is good for me to wish him well from a distant and be able to tell Nigerians the truth”

He said on the suicide allegation, “I can’t commit suicide because of an old man. Such are from miscreants on the social media. Let me tell you expressly, why would I commit suicide? I cannot commit suicide because of my mother. Even if they are burying my mother now, I will cleverly stay away from the grave so that I won’t fall into it. I can’t commit suicide because of Buhari. I never said that and will never make such a statement.
“Truth is that the pressure from me and many other Nigerians made the president to return home. They have been treating this matter under the table forgetting that the life of a president is an open book that can be read by everybody and anybody. What I am saying in effect is that it is in the overall interest of everybody that we have a president that is strong enough to do the job.”

Muslim pilgrims from Africa.
Saudi Arabia has apologised to the Federal Government of Nigeria over an alleged maltreatment of two pilgrims by its security agents in Medina.

The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mohammad Albijawi, gave the apology on behalf of the Royal leaders of the Kingdom when he visited the victims at Wefada Al Zahra Hotel on Al Salam Street Markazziya, in Medina.

He expressed regret over the unfortunate incident and assured that it would not happen again.

The Deputy Minister said Saudi authorities would never tolerate such kind of embarrassment of pilgrims and would take measures to ensure all those who participated in maltreatment of pilgrims were brought to book.

He added that Saudi would continue to ensure better handling of pilgrims, particularly while in the Kingdom.

He said that the Kingdom was committed to delivering the needed service to Nigerian pilgrims and others around the world.

He said, “We shall continue to provide effective service to pilgrims.  What brought us here today is the issue of the two pilgrims that were maltreated somehow by our security agents. We are here to say sorry and regret the issue and assure you that such things will never happen again. On behalf of the King, the Governor of Madina and all the royal leaders in this kingdom, we are here to once again express our apology to you for what has happened and to assure you that the Kingdom will never allow such a thing happen again.”

The Deputy Minister restated the determination of the government to provide the needed services to the pilgrims, adding that the responsibilities of the Kingdom would continue to be upheld.

He said the authority cherished all pilgrims and would continue to serve them by ensuring they stayed in peace throughout the period of Hajj.

Amb. Umar Salisu, Charge d’ Affairs, Embassy of Nigeria in Saudi Arabia, said the governor of Medina informed him about the type of punishment that would be given to the perpetrators of the incident.

” We really appreciate the action taken by the Saudi Authority to bring those people to book and continue to allow Nigerian pilgrims to perform their hajj rites without any fear of harassment, molestation and maltreatment. According to Saudi Authority, this is happening for the first time and it will be the last,” Salisu said.

Two pilgrims from Nasarawa State were allegedly detained and manhandled on arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina on August 19, 2017.
It took the intervention of the Secretary of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Dr. Bello Tambuwal, before they were released.

Tambuwal, who is also the Coordinator of Medina Hajj Operation, petitioned the Saudi Ministry for Hajj Affairs over the issue and demanded immediate action on the perpetrators.

MAN IN HOT ROMANCE WITH MOTHER IN-LAW AFTER GETTING WIFE PREGNANT

Representational photo.
A pregnant wife has left her matrimonial home declaring that she was no longer interested in the marriage after discovering a romance between her own mother and her husband.

The 17-year old lady who got married to a man identified simply as Kingsley, discovered two days after her marriage that her mother had deep intimate relationship with her husband.
According to reports, not minding the fact that she was already pregnant, the lady packed her belongings and left her matrimonial home, swearing that she was no longer interested in the marriage.
It was gathered that the incident happened at Ogboji town in Orumba Local Government Area but the victim hails from Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area, both in Anambra State, Southeast, Nigeria.
The young lady's mother, a widow simply known as Jane, was said to have lost her husband and after mourning him for a few years, she decided to find love again and met Kingsley.
However, it was gathered that their relationship was very strong to the extent that both families knew about it, even though Kingsley was younger in age. However, the situation changed when Kingsley indicated his interest to marry and have his own family. Both lovers agreed that even when he gets married, they would continue to keep their relationship intact. It was then Jane suggested to him to marry one of her daughters. And Kingsley didn't need much persuasion to take the offer.
While narrating her story, the victim said, “When my mother asked me to marry Kingsley I refused because I knew my mother knew him too well,” she said, adding that they had targeted her fertility period and Kingsley arranged with her mom, and she was taken to where she was offered drink and that was all she knew as she slept off.
She said when she woke up, she discovered that she had been defiled and from that singular encounter she got pregnant. Her mother then told her that since she was pregnant, Kingsley had to marry her, and she was forced to accept. She said her family members were contacted who initially objected but had to consent to her mother’s position without knowing she was already pregnant.
Speaking further, she said her bride price was paid and she went with him but hated both Kingsley and her mother who arranged the whole thing when she was supposed to finish her secondary school education.
The victim said when she reflected on what happened, she realised that the whole thing was caused by her mother who she later got to know was sharing Kingsley with her and had to walk out of the marriage.
She said that once she delivers the baby, she will go back to school to take her WAEC and progress further in her education.

Even Rats Have Rejected You, Asari Dokubo Mocks Buhari

Alhaji Mujaheed Asari Dokubo.

Former militant leader, Alhaji Mujaheed Asari Dokubo, has described the rat invasion of President Buhari’s office as a national shame.

According the ex militant, the rat invasion of the President's office was a sign that he has been rejected, not only by Nigerians, but also little animals.

Dokubo stated this shortly after news broke that President Muhammadu Buhari was working from home due to rodents invasion of his office.

Recall that the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Tuesday, August 22, was reported to have said rats had destroyed some valuable items in Buhari’s office and as such, the President would be working from his home.

Reacting to Garba’s statement, Dokubo in a video post on Wednesday August 23, described the rat attack on Buhari’s office as a shame. The former agitator, speaking in parables, said rats had pursued the lion king from office. "It is a shame to Nigeria to report Buhari’s rat incident to the BBC,” he said, adding, “They told us that the lion king was coming to chase out the hyenas and other animals, little did we know that rat took the challenge and chased him out of his office."

Dokubo said the rat invasion was a sign that Buhari had been rejected as President, not only by a major of Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) had mocked Nigeria in their publication of Wednesday, August 22, 2017 over claims that the President has been chased out from office by rats. The BBC first reported the news in Pidgin and then Standard English, quoting the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media, Garba Shehu.

Ex-militants Pleased With FG Over Pipeline Surveillance Jobs

Brigadier-General Paul Boroh
Ex-militants, under the aegis of Justice Group, Tuesday 22nd August 24, 2017, commended the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (retd.) on his moves to give pipeline surveillance jobs to 10,000 youths of the Niger Delta region.

The ex-militants, in a statement at Oleh, Deltsa State, by their leaders, self-styled ‘Generals’ David Owhegbe and Marshall Atake, said Boroh meant well for people of the Niger Delta, adding that the pipeline surveillance jobs, when fully implemented, will go a long way in giving gainful employment to youths of the region.

They, however, appealed to Boroh to commence the process of their integration and documentation into the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The statement said: “We are among ex-militants that embraced the amnesty programme and were disarmed at 3 Battalion Barracks, Effurun, Delta State, in 2011. But since then we have not benefited from the programme.”

NAFDAC Arrests Men Stealing Spaghetti at Dumpsite

Yetunde Oni, Ag. NAFDAC DG.
A team of policemen attached to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control on Wednesday caught three men stealing items earmarked for destruction at the Okediya Dumpsite, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The three men, Kabiru Amar, Yusuf Ahmed and Mohammed Ibrahim, were nabbed carting away cartons of unwholesome spaghetti product during the destruction of fake and substandard products.

Mr. Kingsley Ejiofor, Director, Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, representing NAFDAC’s Acting Director-General, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, told newsmen at the site that the thieves were “career criminals” and would be appropriately dealt with.

“In spite of the fact that we were at the dump site destroying counterfeit and expired products, some miscreants still had the audacity to steal from the destruction exercise site.

“This is to show the extent to which people are willing to go, to make money from the sales of expired products.

“They have been caught and will not be spared,” he said. Over N 300 billion worth of products were destroyed, indicating NAFDAC’s position of zero tolerance for fake drugs and other products.

Some of these expired products destroyed were said to have been voluntarily handed over by compliant companies in the country.

Other products destroyed included fake and counterfeit drugs, prohibited substandard and expired food products, cosmetics, and other regulated products.

These were seized by the Investigation and Enforcement Directorate of NAFDAC, from manufacturers, importers, and distributors in Lagos State and environs.

Ejiofor said that the destruction exercise was embarked upon by the agency as one of NAFDAC’s mandates to safeguard the health of the nation.

“The agency has continued to aggressively pursue the goals of ensuring that only genuine medicines and wholesome foods of the right quality are imported, exported, manufactured and distributed.

“We shall continue to enforce the regulations governing regulated products in Nigeria.

“Surveillance and enforcement operations at our ports, borders and identified routes used by smugglers, have been intensified and this has led to increased seizures of fake regulated products smuggled through our land borders,’’ he said.

The director said that the success recorded was partly due to NAFDAC’s collaborative efforts with sister agencies such as Nigeria Customs Service.

Ejiofor also thanked the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria and the Lagos State Medicine Dealers Association for voluntarily and continuously mopping up and handing over expired products to the agency.

It’s a Lie, I Never Threatened Suicide, Gov Fayose Swears

Gov Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Southwest Nigeria.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has denied ever saying that he would commit suicide should President Muhammadu Buhari return to the country alive. APC supporters in Ekiti State and some other groups had while celebrating Buhari’s return on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, challenged Fayose to make good on his alleged threat.

But the governor in a statement on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, refuted that the governor ever made such a threat and said that it was the creation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The statement stated in part, “Mr. Fayose never said he would commit suicide if the President returns to the country. It is the creation of the APC. It is their style to create such falsehood?”

Buhari returned to Nigeria on Saturday after spending 103 days on a follow-up treatment in London.

During his stay in London Fayose was reported to have claimed that Buhari had been on life support since June 2017 and even threatened to make public pictures of the president to prove his claim.

No More Visas For Nigerians, says Govt of Holland

Mr. Michel Deleen, the Embassy’s Charge d’ Affaires.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nigeria, on Tuesday reminded Nigerians that it was no longer in the business of issuing them visas. The Embassy’s Charge d’ Affaires, Mr. Michel Deleen, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the Embassy had since 2013 swapped its visa issuance processes in Nigeria with the French Consulate General in Lagos and the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja.

“Let me remind Nigerians that under these agreements, any Nigerian that wants to visit the Netherlands for business, study or tourism should always process their visa applications through the French Consulate-General in Lagos and the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja,’’ he said.

Deleen also enjoined Nigerians to always apply for visas to the Netherlands, through VFS Global to the French Consulate-General in Lagos and the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja. “Let me also advise anyone seeking visas to the Netherlands through the French Consulate-General in Lagos and the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja,to always first apply through VFS Global. “When you first apply to VFS Global for visas to the Netherlands,VFS Global would thereafter send them to the French Consulate-General in Lagos and the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja for processing,’’ he said. Give Us More Time to Reconsider Quit Notice to Igbo, Arewa Youths Tell Presidency

The Presidency, through Babafemi Ojudu, an aide to Muhammadu Buhari, has met with Arewa youths over the quit notice they issued to Igbo people in the northern region recently. The three-month quit notice will expire on October 1 and this had been causing tension in the country with groups in the south-east urging their people to return home.

Senator Ojudu revealed that the youths, through their leaders, made their grievances against the Igbo people and gave assurance that they would reconsider the quit notice they issued.

According to Ojudu, the meeting was resourceful as participants spent hours brainstorming and discussing. Details of the meeting and its outcome, he said, would be made available at a press conference on Thursday, August 24.

“I Had a lengthy and resourceful meeting with leaders of the Coalition of Northern Groups today. They were the youths who, some weeks ago, shocked the nation by issuing a notice to the Igbos to quit the Northern part of the country on or before October 1. After the meeting, they resolved to reconsider their position and this will be made known at a press conference on Thursday. They described their action as pre-emptive because of the incessant threats of war by IPOB,” Senator Ojudu reportedly said.

Rescued Chibok Girl Flees, Returns to Boko Haram Husband

Some of the Chibok girls.
When news emerged that some of the Chibok schoolgirls, abducted by Boko Haram in 2014, had declined to return home with the batch of 82 freed in May, the world found it difficult to believe.

Not even the release of a Boko Haram video showing some hijab-cTolad, Kalashnikov-wielding girls saying they were happy in their new lives, was enough to convince people. “They must have been coerced,” some said. “It must be Stockholm syndrome,” others said.

What else could explain why any girl, any woman, would choose to remain with such horrible men? Yet, some women rescued by the Nigerian military from captivity are willingly returning to Boko Haram’s Sambisa forest hideout in north-eastern Nigeria to be with these same horrible men. ‘Fairytale life’ In January, I met Aisha Yerima, 25, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram more than four years ago. While in captivity, she got married to a commander who showered her with romance, expensive gifts and Arabic love songs.

The fairytale life in the Sambisa forest she described to me was suddenly cut short by the appearance of the Nigerian military in early 2016, at a time her husband had gone off to battle with other commanders. When I first interviewed Aisha, she had been in government custody for about eight months, and completed a de-radicalisation programme run by psychologist Fatima Akilu, the executive director of the Neem Foundation and founder of the Nigerian government’s de-radicalisation programme. “I now see that all the things Boko Haram told us were lies,” Aisha said. “Now, when I listen to them on the radio, I laugh.”

The pull of power? But, in May, less than five months after being released into the care of her family in north-eastern Maiduguri city, she returned to the forest hideout of Boko Haram. Over the past five years, Dr Akilu has worked with former Boko Haram members – including some commanders, their wives and children – and with hundreds of women who were rescued from captivity. “How women were treated when in Boko Haram captivity depends on which camp a woman was exposed to. It depends on the commander running the camp,” she said.

“Those who were treated better were the ones who willingly married Boko Haram members or who joined the group voluntarily and that’s not the majority. Most women did not have the same treatment.” Aisha had boasted to me about the number of slaves she had while in the Sambisa forest, the respect she received from other Boko Haram commanders, and the strong influence she had over her husband. She even accompanied him to battle once. “These were women who for the most part had never worked, had no power, no voice in the communities, and all of a sudden they were in charge of between 30 to 100 women who were now completely under their control and at their beck and call,” Dr Akilu said. “It is difficult to know what to replace it with when you return to society because most of the women are returning to societies where they are not going to be able to wield that kind of power.”
