When news break of an
18-year-old teenager wedding a 17-year-old girlfriend of his at a lavish
ceremony last weekend, not a few tongues wagged as to why both were in a hurry
to tie the nuptial knots.
However, the young man's
elder sister has come out to debunk such an insinuation. According to her,
there was no truth in the rumours making the rounds. She disclosed that there
was nothing wrong for young teenagers to get married in their early years
if their parents have consented to it just as it was in this case. She debunked
the pregnancy claim as the probable reason for the wedding, claiming nothing of
the kind happened.
"Since both of them
are in love and have revealed their intention to spend their lives together,
parents of the couple gave their consent, and that was all that was required.
And they are both happy together.
